The most efficient route from Frederick:

Rt. 26 E to left on

Rt. 31 E through New Windsor to right on

Rt. 140 E, for just a few hundred feet, to right-hand exit for

Rt. 97 N (at end of exit ramp, turn left for 97 N to Hanover) to right on

Rt. 496 (Bachman's Valley Road) to left on

Sawmill Road (which becomes Rinehart but you'll never realize it) to straight across Deep Run Road to

Band Hall Hill Road to left on

Grand Valley Road to left on

Lake Drive to left at #663 to

the bottom of the hill, and straight up to our house.

If you come to the end of Lake Drive, you've missed our private lane by a hundred feet: circle around and go back to the right at # 661. (We share the lane.)

To take a very pretty drive:

Rt 26 E to left on

Rt 194 E through Littlestown to right on

Pine Grove Road to left* on

Pine Town Road to straight across Old Westminster Pike to

Raubenstine Road to right (where you should look for geese and herons in the water at the head of Long Arm Reservoir) on

Grand Valley Road to right on

Lake Drive to left at #663 to

the bottom of the hill, and straight up to our house.

If you come to the end of Lake Drive, you've missed our private lane by a hundred feet: circle around and go back to the right at # 661. (We share the lane.)

*At this tricky-because-easy-to-miss intersection you are actually going more or less straight on. However, as Pine Town Road itself bears to the right, you are technically taking a left on Pine Grove Road.
